You can also use Dotypos PAYMENT (Dotypay) independently like Mobile Waiter or the payment terminal. In such situations, the POS application Dotypos is installed on another device and this so-called main cash register communicates with Dotypos PAYMENT (Dotypay) via the network connection in your establishment.

To properly set up the communication between the main cash register and Dotypos PAYMENT (as an independent payment terminal or Mobile Waiter), you have to adjust the configuration of the active component (router) used for the network communication within your establishment. So the procedure described below is meant only for advanced users! |
Use it like an independent payment terminal
The settings are the same as when connecting a standard payment terminal. Both the main cash register and Dotypos PAYMENT (Dotypay) must have static IP addresses set up so they do not change when the device is restarted. In the cash register the Payment terminal driver is installed to provide the communication between the cash register and terminal.

In the DOTPAY (Dotypay) side menu, tap Support and note the MAC address displayed. You will need it in the next step. |

Set up a static IP address for the main cash register. The best way to do this is to limit the range of provided IP addresses by the DHCP server in your router, then you assign the cash register an address out of this range, see Step 1: Router settings and Step 3: Network settings in the Dotypos cash register in this chapter. |

Reserve a static IP address for your Dotypos PAYMENT (Dotypay) in your router. To do this, go to the DHCP settings in your router again and with the MAC address from the first step you create a rule for a permanent reservation of the IP address. The detailed sequence can be found in the guide to your router, or contact your network administrator. |

On the main cash register where the POS application Dotypos is running, please install the Payment terminal driver and set it up according to these instructions. The main cash register will communicate with the terminal in Dotypos PAYMENT (Dotypay) via the LAN network. So set up in the Payment terminal driver one IP address reserved for Dotypos PAYMENT (Dotypay) and one static IP address for the main cash register. Then try a test payment transaction. |
Use it like Mobile Waiter with a payment terminal
Dotypos PAYMENT (Dotypay) can be also used like Mobile Waiter, where you use the integrated payment terminal for card payments.

Into Dotypos PAYMENT (Dotypay), install with the button App Market the application Mobile Waiter. After installation, run the application and pair it with the main cash register according to the procedure in this chapter. The complete description of Mobile Waiter can be found here. |

Next, install the Payment Terminal Driver from the store. Once installed, launch the application and select Dotypay as the payment provider and choose the built-in terminal connection. The payment terminal setup is described in this chapter. |

At the moment when you are in Mobile Waiter and you close an order and select the debit / credit card payment, it will be processed via the integrated payment terminal. |
