If receipts or orders are not printed correctly, check the printer settings and functioning. This chapter can give you some ideas. Continue by selecting the type of your printer connection:
The printer is connected to the cash register via USB cable
The printer uses a Wi-Fi connection
The printer is connected via a LAN network (Ethernet) cable
I use a mobile Bluetooth printer
1.Check the printer connection to the power supply - the light POWER on the printer is on.
2.Turn the printer and cash register off and check whether the USB cable is connected correctly on both sides. If possible, disconnect the USB cable and reconnect. Then turn both devices on.
3.If you have another USB cable available, try to replace it.
4.If blank paper comes out of the printer, check whether the paper roll has been inserted with the correct heat-sensitive side facing up. If you tap the heat-sensitive side with your finger fast, a black line appears.
5.In Dotypos printing settings, the USB printer has to be deleted and then add and set up again.
1.Check the printer connection to the power supply - the light POWER on the printer is on.
2.Check whether the Wi-Fi network in your establishment is functional. Try to connect to the Wi-Fi network with another device, e.g. a mobile phone.
3.Both the cash register and printer have to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
4.Reset the router (active element) that creates the Wi-Fi network.
5.If blank paper comes out of the printer, check whether the paper roll has been inserted with the correct heat-sensitive side facing up. If you tap the heat-sensitive side with your finger fast, a black line appears.
6.In Dotypos printing settings, the Wi-Fi printer has to be deleted and then add and set up again.
1.Check the printer connection to the power supply - the light POWER on the printer is on.
2.Check whether the network in your establishment is functional. Try to connect to the network with another device, e.g. computer. Disconnect the LAN cable from the printer and connect it to the computer.
3.If you have another LAN cable available, try to replace it. The LAN cable must not be squeezed in the door, its maximal length is 10 meters.
4.Both cash register and printer have to be connected to the same network, the same router (active element) that creates the network.
5.The printer cannot be connected directly to the cash register via LAN cable. Both devices (cash register and printer) have to be connected to the router via LAN cable.
6.Reset the router (active element) that creates the network and the cash register and printer are connected to.
7.If blank paper comes out of the printer, check whether the paper roll has been inserted with the correct heat-sensitive side facing up. If you tap the heat-sensitive side with your finger fast, a black line appears.
8.In Dotypos printing settings, the LAN printer has to be deleted and then add and set up again.
1.Check whether the printer is on - the light POWER on the printer is on. By default, the Bluetooth printer switches to the power save mode after 2 hours. If no light is on, turn the printer on.
2.Connect the printer to the power source and fully charge the battery.
3.The printer has to be paired with the tablet. Erase the printer from the list of paired devices and pair it with the tablet again. Then also erase it in the Dotypos printing settings and delete again, and then add and set up again.
4.If blank paper comes out of the printer, check whether the paper roll is inserted with the correct heat-sensitive side up. If you tap the heat-sensitive side with your finger fast, a black line appears.
5.If your Bluetooth printer STAR SM-S230i does not print in Czech, read this article in the knowledge database (in the Czech language).
