The printer can be connected to the POS system via the serial interface RS232 or wirelessly using the bluetooth protocol.
Serial connection
Optionally the printer can be connected to the device via the serial interface RS232 (terminal DIN6/DB9). You find the connector on the printer’s left side, see Printer description.
Bluetooth connection
•According to its type the printer complies with the bluetooth 2.1 or 4.0 specification and 2nd class of feeding.
•The printer is in Slave mode and has to be controlled by the devices it is connected to.
•The maximal communication distance is 10 meters. However this distance is valid only if there is direct visibility between the printer and the device.
Pairing
1.Turn on the printer
2.In the device find the printer using bluetooth under the name “DOTPR58”
3.Enter the password “0000”
4.Complete the pairing
To go through the pairing process step-by-step, see the complete user guide. If you are pairing the printer with a device using the iOS operating system, you have to follow the instructions of the servicing application. |
Notes:
•When pairing, do not turn on many printers at the same time.
•You can pair up to 8 host devices with one printer. If you pair the printer with more than 8 devices, one of the paired devices will be deleted. If you need this device, you have to pair it with the printer again.
•If you turn the printer off, it may take up to several seconds after turning on before it is possible to print from the paired device.
