Dotypos allows the use of tares, including their storage in memory for repeated use. If you want to use tares, you must enable this option in the scale settings. For tares to work, it is not necessary to have a supported scale connected to the cash register, because tares can also be added manually.
Special tag for tares
You can assign a default tare to a product with the tag -tare-default-<weight in kg>, e.g. -tare-default-0.250. The tare is then used automatically when weighing. However, the special tag for tares only works with a non-certified scale connection, where the tare can be transferred from the cash register. This is not yet possible with a certified connection.
Using tares when selling weighed products

Create a weighed product and in the Price section, check the option Requires manual quantity entry (weighted). |

Place the packaging (plate, bowl, etc.) whose weight you want to deduct from the weight of the weighed product on the scale. |

When billing the goods, the dialog window for entering the quantity will appear automatically. |

In this window, on the right under the heading Tares, tap + Add new. |

In the following dialog, enter the tare name |
. The tare weight will be filled in automatically. Tap

If you do not have a scale connected, you will be able to enter the tare manually at this step via the MANUAL ENTRY button.

Now the tare is ready to be deducted from the weight of the billed product. You can put the weighed goods right on the packaging (in this case a plate) and deduct the tare by tapping its name |
. The resulting value is the net weight of the product

The proportional price is also calculated. In this case, the unit for carrots was set to 1 kg and the unit price to EUR 8.05, so the resulting price for 0.9 kg is EUR 7.25. |

The tare remains in memory, so you can use it for any future billing by tapping its name. To prevent inaccurate weighing, we recommend activating the Require stable weight option in the scale settings. |
If you do not have the option Requires manual quantity entry (weighted) checked for the goods, you can also use tares additionally after the product has been billed by tapping the icon to adjust the billed product. The icons are displayed after tapping the billed item.
On the next screen, tap Quantity to display all saved tares. Tap a tare to select it and it will be deducted from the billed product.
Delete saved tares by tapping the trash icon.
