Dotypos offers quite a wide range of discount options for your customers, i.e. shoppers. Depending on where you set the discount, it can be applied in percentages or currency ($). The overview below shows where discounts can be set and applied:

In the properties of each created product, on the Price tab, you can set the percentage discount after activating the On sale option. The set discount will be automatically accepted on every sale. |

If you create and then charge a special discount product to your order, you will be able to enter the amount of the discount. The amount is then automatically applied to the entire order and spread evenly across all items in the order. |

In the Payment dialog, you can use the advanced order options menu to set a discount for the entire order before the final bill payment. |

In the properties of an open account, under the Order options icon, there is an option to PROVIDE DISCOUNT. The discount set in this way will be applied to each order item. |

In the properties of the charged product, you can set both the percentage discount and the discount in currency on the Discount tab. The specified discount is valid only for the specific item in the order on which it was set. |

In the application settings, you can create several discount groups with a defined discount percentage. In the customer account, you can then assign each customer to one of the created discount groups. The discount defined in the discount group will be applied to each item in the order. |

In addition to the above discounts, pricing rules can be created through Dotypos Cloud to ensure that the price of a product is temporarily changed based on a specific date, time or day of the week. This can be used for regular or one-off discount events such as Black Friday, happy days, etc. These options are described in this chapter. |

Each cash register user should have a set of rights. The set of rights determines what activities the user can perform in the cash register and warehouse application. One of the rights is the ability to give discounts. |
User right Modify order item sale price |
This right, if active, allows the operator to change the selling price of the product after adding it to the order. However, the user must have the right to make changes to parked / unparked items. Without this right, when editing parked / unparked items in the order, it will not be possible to change their price. The Price tab in this dialog will not be available. |
Set maximum discount in category |
In the product category properties you can set the maximum amount of discount allowed. This limit will be valid for all products in the category. It will not be possible to apply a discount higher than the set discount. However, it does not apply to the discount for the entire order in the Payment dialog |
Don't apply order sales to a product |
In the product properties, you can enable not to apply a bulk discount. If this option is enabled, any account-wide discount will never be applied to this product. |
Set maximum employee discount |
In the user account properties, you can set the maximum discount allowed for a specific user. However, this limitation only applies to the discount applied to an item in the order, not to the discount for the entire order. |
