In this section you set the behaviour of the cash drawer. The cash drawer is connected to the receipt printer by default. Through the printer, the cash register sends an impulse to open the cash drawer. Therefore, you will also find a link to the print settings in this setting. Without a properly configured and connected printer, opening the cash drawer will not work.
In order for the cash register to display the options below, plug the cash drawer into the printer connected to the cash register and tap the ENABLE button.
Payment methods
Opening the cash drawer may depend on the payment method used. For checked payment methods, the drawer will open.
Behavior
Display open button on main screen
Hides or shows the button to open the cash drawer in the tile menu on the main screen. You can use this button to open the cash drawer at any time, regardless of cashier activity.
Open cash drawer after payment from mobile waiter
Automatically opens the cash drawer when a payment is made via Mobile waiter.
Open cash drawer after payment from external ordering systems and API
Automatically opens the cash drawer when an external order has been paid in the linked ordering services or when a payment is made via API Dotypos.

The cash drawer is also opened when a cash in / cash out is recorded in the cash register. For example, when cash is withdrawn to purchase raw materials. |

For the cash drawer to work properly, you must first connect a printer to the cash drawer and set up printing. The cash drawer is connected directly to the printer using an RJ45 cable, see chapter Connecting the Cash drawer. |
